SONIA LARDY

Soprano lirico-leggero

Sonia Lardy is a young French and Romanian soprano. She forms herself in the Royal Conservatory of Mons - ARTS² with Thierry Migliorini and Axel Everaert, where she obtains two master degrees, of specialisation and pedagogy.

During this period, Sonia participates in several scenical productions with La Camera Lirica in the "operette" repertoire, and via the MM Academy, academy for young singers founded by La Monnaie. She has more recently sang Mozart roles, as Papagena, Zweite Knabe, and Zerlina, in the LOSW productions of Die Zauberflöte (2021) and Don Giovanni (2023) in Weimar. She was more recently selected to sing the role of Despina in Cosi fan tutte, with the Vienna Opera Festival in August 2024.

Sonia discovers a real passion for chamber music and has a particular interest for Art songs. Since 2020 Sonia forms a liedduo with pianist Julien Lejeune, with whom she explores the German, French and Eastern repertoire. They also have been admitted to the Udo Reinemann Masterclasses Lied Duo 2022-2023.

Her curiosity for contemporary music led her to participate in the creation of several pieces from Claude Ledoux's composition class. She has more recently participated in the recording of a CD around the young Belgian composer Apolline Jesupret's pieces, in collaboration with Hopper Ensemble.
